Eu voei.
Antes do salto, só o medo de na hora ter medo ou de errar alguma coisa no procedimento. Ainda assim, pensei (e disse para a câmera): "de qualquer forma vai ser divertido". E saltei. Ou melhor, corri até onde não havia mais chão, só ar. E de repente, como se fosse a coisa mais normal do mundo, eu estava voando. Talvez isso seja frustrante pra quem lê, mas não cheguei a ter choque nenhum ou medo NENHUM. Parece que nasci pra voar. Deve ser por todos os sonhos que desde criança sempre tive, sonhos em que abria os braços e voava. Voava longe, alto, naturalmente.

Com isso não quero dizer que não foi maravilhoso. Foi mais que isso. Palavras não podem expressar a sensação de estar no ar, ora acima, ora abaixo das nuvens, perto das aves, da montanha, vendo a sombra da asa projetada na areia, os carros no Joá, as pessoas na praia pequeninas e o mundo, enorme. Vertigem? Nenhuma! Será que perdi algo? Ainda agora fecho os olhos e sinto o vento em mim, a pressão que me mantinha deitada, o balanço da asa, a cabeça leve.

Meu primeiro voo de asa-delta e meu piloto, o veterano Assad Jr, me disse que nunca mais eu farei um voo tão lindo e tao perfeito quanto aquele. "Igual sim, melhor, impossível". Imaginem então. Céu claro, mas com nuvens o suficiente pra nós podermos passar entre elas, experiência que é indescritível. Metáfora boa pra alguns fatos da vida, as nuvens....podem parecer grandes, concretas, mas quando se passa com calma, vemos que é só névoa compacta e achamos buracos pra atravessá-las. Poesia barata, me desculpem, mas não resisti.

O mar é ainda mais lindo de cima. As montanhas são ainda mais lindas de perto.

Perigoso? perigoso é aqui embaixo!
Lá em cima é paz. É quase ZEN.

Vontade de gritar u-huuu? Não...de fechar os olhos e abrir os braços. E a paisagem??A paisagem é linda, mas acreditem não é o mais impressionante. Mais impressionante ainda é o ar. É o vento, é planar. É ser passarinho por 20 minutos (sim, meu voo durou uns 20 minutos!)

É por essas e outras que Kurt Cobain cantou no ar, não é, Assad? Ou que seu outro passageiro compôs uma ária no ar.

Eu não compus nada, nem cantei. Só ri, sorri o tempo todo, pensei em como é importante esse passo ao desconhecido, e a confiança no outro. E agora penso em como a minha vida, nesses 30 anos, com seus erros e acertos, sempre foi construída em cima disso: a falta de medo de me lançar, o gosto pelos desafios e a confiança nas pessoas.

For this week's assignment, take a photo of a fence or gate.

Dare: Take a photo of an animal or person going over, under or through the fence or gate.

WIT: as we visited the beach today we saw a group of learner gliders in training. One was gliding over the fence and so I thought, this would fit the assignment. Postprocessing: I enhanced contrasts and colours, put a vignette around it to create a slightly surreal look. View on black

Here's another one from our paragliding trip. I seriously am so happy the sun was starting to set by the time we were up top! A setting sun is so much better than a high in the sky one!

Another weekend over *sigh*. Yesterday we got rained out of hockey again so I spent the day doing nothing until it was time to head out to the Daegu Theatre Troupe's November workshop. We got a nice surprise when the English bookstore/Organic cafe was selling turkey dinner. Now when you grow up eating turkey and referring to 3 holiday's as Turkey Day it's hard to let those days pass without that delicious bird! I was even able to get some turkey for a sandwich tomorrow... my coworkers are going to hate me but I do believe it's worth it!
The bookstores space is also PERFECT for a gallery so I asked the owner if it were possible to have a low key gallery for a weekend and she said sure and I could even bring in some of my stuff to display permanently.

On another note my power went out at around 9pm and nothing was working so I figured my job neglected to pay my power bill for the month. I tried calling my boss and texting her but got nothing. Things like this make it hard living somewhere when you don't speak the same language. If it's not back on within the next couple hours I'm going to have to throw out everything in my fridge. The kicker is I had a load of laundry in! AWESOME!
